best way to save for house down payment?

I’ve been in southern california for a year, and just moved into a rental house with an option to buy. I figure I can probably save up around $40-45k for a down payment in three years. how should i save? The Roth IRA tax loophole for first time home buyers maxes out at $10k and takes 5 years anyway. It sounds dumb, but the best safe short term investment I can think of is savings bonds. There has to be someting better…

I am in my early twenties and looking to move out, while buying a home seems the way to go these days I am still hesitant seeing as I know the market is still going to fall. I am looking into rent-to own options. If anyone has had any experiences with this good/bad..any advice would help!

Can I rent an Apartment in a new town without a job?

I have great rental history and am moving to Oregon. My girlfriend is taking an internship position there and I am currently looking for a job. I do not have a job yet and am wondering if there is any way that I would be allowed to rent without a job? If I get a part time job right away would that be sufficient? Please somebody save me with your rental genius!!

So, I’m dating this “nice” girl for about a month now… But I’m very very depressed and sad because it looks like she wants to be with me because I drive her around and pay for dinner… She was behaving like did not enjoy my company, for 3 consecutive days… 3 days ago, It was the first time I had shown her “my place” that I rent… She is a professional rents a room also, but I am a full-time graduate student… After we met to talk about what was going on, she said she was upset because we have different life styles: Her ex-boyfriend owns an entire house, and I own books and a room… I’ve been hanging out with her at her place, but this happened after she came to see my place… On that day, I drove her home and she gave me excuses to let me go in… She told me the phrase because we talked about what was going on… Is this a good person? Is she looking at what I own? my friend told me she is not considerate to the person, but to what I own… Please, give me some light…
