Advice on how to back out of a Pre-sale contract in Geogia?
October 3rd, 2009 Posted by: admin
2 years ago, my wife and I put a contract down for a condo in Atlanta (downtown) for 4000. The idea is to purchase this condo and rent it out. At the time we did not anticipate the economic challenge (hence could be difficult to find tenants easily).
3 CommentsCan some please advice how we can get out of this contract and still collect the deposit we made 2 years ago?
Thanks

The house I am renting is being foreclosed. I need a little advice?
September 29th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I’ve been renting a house in Florida with 3 roommates. In late November we find out that our landlords have not been paying the mortgage. The roommates speak to a legal aid office, which advises us to stop paying rent and find a new place to live immediately. I leave to do some studying abroad for the month of January. A couple of days ago, my roommates, without my involvement, sign a document titled Agreement to Vacate. My understanding is that they are agreeing to be out by January 12th. Our security deposit included the last month’s rent and they agreed that it will be used for December’s rent. They have refused to help me move my belongings. I need to know how this document applies to me, as I don’t have the means to move my stuff by the 12th. Our year’s lease began in August - we had another six months.

Desperately needed advice about renting a house?
September 13th, 2009 Posted by: admin
my husband, 8 month old baby and I have just moved into a house which we are renting from a local estate agent. The contract is signed and we have paid £600 deposit and one month’s rent upfront. When we moved into the house (on Friday) we discovered that the room we were planning on using as the baby’s room is full of damp. There also seems to be some problem with the heating and the shower doesn’t work. On top of this there are no smoke alarms in the house. My question is this: Is it the landlord’s responsibility to provide working smoke alarms? Also we were supposed to give our bank details for the rent to be paid by direct debit. Where do we stand if we refuse to give our bank details? Is the contract void? I know this is a really long question but I really appreciate any advice anyone can give as it’s not just us but a little baby who has to live there as well. Thank you all so so much! x

I am single marrying a single father of 4. We both work. How do we contribute to family household account?
August 24th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I am a 33, single, never been married, and he is 40, divorced, has 4 kids and his ex-wife is deceased. We both work full time and make a decent living and have our own checking, savings and 401k’s. He owns a home and a few rental properties in NC. I rent an apt in NC and I own a rental property in NJ. When we get married, how much should I contribute to the household account for the mortgage, utilities, and general savings for the household needs. Any advice would be appreciated!

Does anyone have advice for a couple considering purchasing a townhouse/condo/manufactured home in Florida?

We plan to retire in 3-5 years and would only use it sporadically until then. After that, we’ use it a few months each year.
