what would you do?

ok my family is currently renting a townhouse but the owner wants us out, but the neighbourhood we live in is extremely expensive, a 1 bedroom apartment costs 500,000 so my parents gave me a choice: either we rent another townhouse but with 2 bedrooms instead of 3 and wait until the prices drop (they will probably never drop), or move to a place 20 minutes away with a huge luxury house/mansion and go to the same school. which would you pick??

I live in a one bedroom apartment and EVERY night five or six thugs (many tenants) are yelling and talking loud under me- after 10pm - which in Chicago is the quiet down period. Since I have told security and the police on numerous occasions, and it never works, if I go to my landlord and tell her the problem, and its NOT fixed, am I obligated to be able to move to a higher level in a different apartment, and not pay any more rent then what Im paying now? I would appreciate honest and detailed answers - especially if any of you are going through similar situations. Thanks.

I have enough money for 6 months of rent…. im looking at this 800 dollar 1 bedroom apartment… what do i need to give my lanlord before moving in? for example.. extra payments? do he want rent in advance? or what? idk im really just moving out on my own. and i need advice… or what kind of money am i giving him so i dont get tricked…? what other payments besides rent am i also making to my lanlord?

my husband and i got a 2 bedroom apartment and we decided to let out a room to his friend who needed one and to reduce our bills. his girlfriend was coming often and its was ok, until 2 weeks ago he told my husband that he wants to inform him that his girlfriend is moving in with him permanently. two days later she moved in with all her belongings. we are not particularly happy about it, and we want to tell him to look for another place . how do we go about it without creating enemies?

Michigan Apartment Rental Laws?

My husband and I rent a 2 bedroom apartment in family housing at a college. However we have 3 kids, our girls share a bedroom and our 19 month old sleeps in our bedroom in his crib. We are almost done with school, but now hearing that the government is coming in making regular inspections I’ve been hearing you’re only allowed 2 people in each bedroom. Does anyone know if that law applies in Michigan? I’ve heard it does in CA. The college hasn’t said anything about it, but I’m not sure if their on top of laws and such.
